Mix the red meat, onions, flour, eggs, grated cheese, salt, black
pepper, thyme, cumin, cayenne pepper and parsley or dill (if desired) together for a few minutes until well combined.
To get the meatball dough, add 1/2 cup of hot water and 1/4 cup of
liquid oil to the mixture. Knead the dough by hand to make it soft and
manageable.
Form meatballs according to the desired size. Recommended size is about
2-3 inches in diameter for small meatballs.
You can cook meatballs by boiling, pan-frying, or deep-frying. Boiling
method takes about 20-25 minutes in hot water, pan-frying method takes
about 5-7 minutes to fry on each side in a pan, and deep-frying method
takes about 5-7 minutes in a deep fryer.
Serve the cooked meatballs hot. You can serve the meatballs with
yogurt, salad, bread or mashed potatoes as options.
As an additional step, you can roll the meatballs in flour, beaten
eggs, and breadcrumbs before frying or baking to give them a crispy
texture.
You can also add different spices or herbs to the meat mixture to give
it a unique flavor. Some popular options include cumin, paprika, garlic,
or parsley.
After the meatballs are cooked, you can also add them to a sauce, such
as a tomato or cream sauce, to add even more flavor.
